Upon arrival at the Nepal-Tibet border (Rasuwagadi – Kyrong), receive by Rural Journeys representative and drive to Nuwakot. After crossing the Rasuwagadhi border, our journeys begins along the scenic Trisuli River valley, surrounded by lush hills and terraced farmlands. The drive offers glimpse of rural Nepali life, small villages, and verdant landscapes typical of the region.
Upon arrival at the hotel, you are welcomed to a serene countryside retreat known for its organic farming and peaceful surroundings.
Overnight at Hotel
After breakfast, embark for Kathmandu. The drive takes you through winding roads along terraced hills, small villages, and scenic farmland, giving travelers an authentic glimpse of rural Nepali life. As you approach Tokha, the landscape gradually transitions from the tranquil countryside to the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. One can admire panoramic views of the valley, dotted with traditional settlements, and the distant Himalayan peaks on clear days.
Along the way, there are opportunities to stop for photos, sample local snacks at roadside tea stalls, or interact with villagers to experience local culture firsthand.
The drive concludes as we enter Kathmandu, with its bustling streets, historic temples, and lively atmosphere - a striking contrast to the peaceful Nuwakot countryside.
Later afternoon, visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (approx. 30mins walk from the hotel).

After breakfast, begin our day at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of Nepal’s most beautifully preserved medieval cities. Explore the intricately carved temples, palaces, and courtyards, including the 55-Window Palace, Vatsala Temple, and the iconic Nyatapola Temple. Stroll through narrow streets lined with traditional pottery and artisan shops, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich Newar culture. Afterwards, drive back and visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and holiest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. Walk around the massive mandala, spin prayer wheels, and observe monks and devotees performing their daily rituals. The surrounding area is dotted with monasteries and shops selling traditional Buddhist crafts and souvenirs. Later proceed to nearby Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Witness the rituals along the Bagmati River, including cremation ceremonies at the ghats, and explore the temple complex with its pagoda-style architecture, gilded roofs, and sacred statues.

Transfer to local school, after the visit and lunch pick-up and transfer to hotel. For those interested, optional visit to Thamel with the English speaking tour guide, a buzzing, visitor-friendly exciting place of the city.
