The highlight of the trek is Kongde (6,011 m) — a stunning vantage point that reveals breathtaking views of Everest and the surrounding valleys. Along the way, you’ll be immersed in the atmosphere of ancient mountain culture, pass through Sherpa villages, and witness the legendary climbing routes that have drawn mountaineers from across the globe.

Upon arrival in Katmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by the representative from Rural Journeys and transferred to hotel by private vehicle. Although the fertile Kathmandu Valley has been inhabited for thousands of years, its rich and varied cultural legacy essentially began during the 14th century under the Malla Dynasty. Patronized by the nobility, Newar artisans constructed temples, monasteries and elaborate courtyards that constitute a fascinating architectural history. Early transfer from hotel to domestic airport to board Lukla flight. Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800m). This flight provides a magnificent entree to the trek. Upon arrival set up your baggage's and start your first day trek. It is an easy walk through several villages to Phakding. Overnight at the luxury lodge

After breakfast we follow the Dudh Kosi River for about 2 hour and then climb slowly up a steep trail to Namche. As we climb, we enjoy our first views of Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7879m) and Lhotse (8383m) - the big three. Overnight at the luxury lodge

We enjoy a rest day here to allow for maximum acclimatization. A pleasant day will be spent exploring the village of Khunde and Khumjung where you will also see the scalp of famous ‘YETI’ or simply enjoying and marveling at the incredible scenery around Namche. Overnight at the luxury lodge

Today we walk through a beautiful pine and rhododendron forest, typical Sherpa house and small villages. This trail forms part of the entry route to Tibet, it is also the historical route from where the Sherpa’s migrated from eastern Tibet 800 years ago. Today’s trail offers you the magnificent views of Kongde Ri. Later in the afternoon, visit 500yrs old Thame Dechen Chokhorling Monastery, perched on the steep cliff overlooking the village. After breakfast we start early morning trek to the Kongde which takes about 7 to 8 hours from Thame. Today is the longest, hardest but also most adventurous trekking route throughout the trek. The trail gently descends west bank of the Bhote Koshi, passing by the KBC Power house and reaching Pare through pine, rhododendron, and bamboo forests with fantastic views of mighty peak of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. The trail is wild and climbs above the river valley, offering nice views of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at the luxury lodge

Today we hike exploring Kongde and enjoying walk around in the wild nature and becoming intoxicated with the panoramic views if world’s highest mountains. We walk up towards Farak Ri which offers you with the panoramic birds eye views of entire Khumbu Valley and view of 8000m peaks; Everest, Lhotse Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and many other Peaks of Khumbu Valley such as Chola Tse, Island Peak, etc. You can also enjoy the spellbinding panoramic view of Tengboche monastery, Namche and Khumjung village. One cannot forget the scenario observed from here which offers a view of entire Solukhumbu Ranges. Overnight at the luxury lodge

After breakfast, we start our trek early. We descend down towards Phakding following the views of Phakding valley, Himalayan Thar, Mt. Thamserku (6623 m) and ranges of Kangtega. Slightly descending further through the narrow trail with rocks, you reach Toktok village. The trail is very easy today although steep in places. You can walk at your own pace enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa villages. Overnight at the luxury lodge

Fly to Kathmandu, upon arrival in Kathmandu, receive and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure or free for individual activities or explore Thamel which is known by its narrow alleys crowded with various shops and vendors. Commonly sold goods include food, fresh vegetables/fruits, pastries, trekking gear, walking gear, music, handicrafts, souvenirs, woolen items and clothes. Small grocery stores, budget hotels, restaurants, pubs and clubs also line the streets. Overnight at the hotel

Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, which never fails to impress visitors with its ensemble of palaces, courtyards and temples built during the Malla period. The Durbar Square includes the Hanuman Dhoka Royal Palace - the historic seat of the royalty; the magnificent Taleju Temple towering more than 40 meters; Kumari Ghar - the residence of the Living Goddess, Kumari and Kal Bhairav - the God of Wrath. Thereafter visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, resting on a hillock 3km west of Kathmandu, it is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal. It is said to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of a primordial lake more than 2,000 years ago. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and has numerous shrines and monasteries on its premises. Afterwards, proceed to Bhaktapur Durbar Square which was one of three former capitals of the valley, and was once a flourishing city on the trade route to Tibet. Today, Bhaktapur is like an open air museum with large areas open to pedestrian access - it is a store house of mediaeval art and architecture. Interesting places to explore include the renowned Durbar square, Golden Gate at the Palace of 55 Windows, Dattatraya Square, Nyatapola Square which houses the tallest Pagado Temple of its kind in Nepal and Pottery square including variety of Hindu and Buddhist temples. You may also see artisans engaged in Bhaktapur’s traditional crafts of pottery and weaving. Overnight at the hotel
